2019 Nfl Rushing Title
The Tennessee Titans had a lot to play for in Week 17. Derrick Henry is making sure the Titans will keep playing after the regular seasons ends Sunday.
The Heisman winner from Alabama came into Sunday trailing Nick Chubb of Cleveland and Christian McCaffrey of Carolina in the race for the rushing crown.
He was 124 yards behind Chubb coming in and the Browns’ RB added 41 yards in an early start, which Cleveland lost to Cincinnati.
Henry needed 166 yards to win the title and Tennessee needed to beat Houston to lock up a Wild-Card spot in the AFC.
Henry delivered for the Titans. He had 32 carries for 211 yards and a trio of TDs in the romp over Houston. Henry iced the rushing title — and 35-14 victory — with this brilliant TD run.
The Heisman winner out of Alabama has better than 3,800 yards rushing in his four years with Tennessee.
Nick Chubb carried a considerable lead in the NFL rushing title race entering Week 17. But a bad day from the Browns offense and a monster effort from Tennessee’s Derrick Henry proved too much.

2018 Nfl Rushing Title
The Browns RB entered the day with 1,453 yards and Henry was a distant third with 1,329. Carolina’s Christian McCaffrey was sandwiched in between with 1,361.
Chubb sputtered to the finish with just 41 yards on 13 carries, a week after netting just 45 on 15 attempts. Henry posted 211 yards against the Houston Texans to seize the title. He finishes with 1,540 to Chubb’s 1,494. McCaffrey wound up with 1,387 after netting just 26 yards in the Panthers’ blowout loss to New Orleans.
It would have been the first rushing title for a Browns player since Leroy Kelly in 1968.
